Product “CLID-RW” : On the fly Read/Write module for multifunction DuoCard^R

The CLID-RW modules cover all necessary front-end functions to access “combi” microchip SmartCards (DuoCard^R). Their versatility allows flexible and efficient applications for various devices such as : small and compact reader/writer, handheld reader, security access control terminals, door management control terminals, time & attendance controllers, point of sales terminals, parking meters, public phones, vending machines, vehicle control, gasoline distribution, electronic purse and POS terminal, etc...etc...

The Read/Write electronic consists of a radio frequency circuit coupled to a VLSI chip, both mounted on a multilayer PCB (credit card size) with SMD assembly technology. It combines all basic functions compatible with chip card technologies : modulation, demodulation, RF signal generation, security management and anticollision. It interfaces with multiple antennas on the RF side and with a microprocessor via a parallel 8 bit bus interface on the logic side.

The RF coupling helps to achieve proximity read-distance and the use of cryptography guarantees high data security. Furthermore, an anticollision facility allows to handle several SmartCards which are within the field of the antenna at the same time, thus achieving the highest operating security and permitting to handle several data transfers quickly and simultaneously.
